ACT Childrens PlanThe ACT Childrens Plan was launched on Tuesday 15 June 2004 by Minister Katy Gallagher, MLA at the Ainslie Arts Centre. Copies of the plan and other documents can be found on the publications page.
Revisiting the ACT Children’s PlanThe ACT Children’s Plan was launched by the Stanhope Government
in 2004 to provide clear direction and vision for the delivery and coordination
of children’s services across the government, non-government and
community sectors to 2014. The plan was developed to help children reach
their full potential, because all children need to be protected and nurtured.
We are also aware that there have been changes in the lives of children and their families during this time. It is timely to revisit the current plan and to look again towards the future. This ‘revisiting’ of ACT Children’s Plan is occurring at the same time as the development of a new ACT Young People’s Plan so by the end of 2009, we intend to launch two complementary plans that promote a child / youth friendly city, and that assist children with the transition from childhood into being a young person in the ACT, and that we continue to monitor the well-being of Canberra’s children and young people. Have your Say To do this, we need to hear from children and their families about what
would make Canberra a more child friendly city, to inform future work
of government. We will be doing this by inviting children to draw pictures
and answer some questions about what it means for them to be a child in
Canberra. We are also asking parents, community members and people who
work to children to assist with this process. Alternatively you can can download the following documents and send your written and pictorial responses to the questions for children and adults by Friday 4 September 2009 to: Children’s Policy & Regulation Unit Overview of the process to revisit the ACT Children's Plan | ||
